Hospice Southland’s Raise a Calf for Hospice campaign is about raising money to support our community, one calf at a time. All proceeds that are raised stay in the Southland and Wakatipu region to enable Hospice to provide care at no cost.
How does it work?
Livestock
You can either pledge a calf and when they are sold, the sale
price is donated to Hospice Southland. All you need to do is
commit to rearing a calf until they are weaned.
Virtual
Alternatively, you can choose to donate a virtual calf with a one-
off donation of $350.
How to get your calf to sale?
We will provide you with a Hospice ear tag.
You’ll need to tag your calf with your own EID as well as a
Hospice ear tag so that we can easily identify which calf you
are donating. In early December, we’ll contact you to advise when your
calf will be collected from your farm and transferred to the
Lorneville Sale Yards.Sale date is usually early December – to be confirmed.
- The calf you nominate can be either a Beef or Beef Cross
Friesian breed.
